Fenugreek tea is made by boiling whole fenugreek seeds in water for 15 minutes. It is strained and the liquid is used as tea. It can be had cold or warm. The right amount for a person would be one cup at a time, two to three times in a day. Another way is to soak 1 or 2 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds over night and to drink the water the next day. Fenugreek tea also has a significant amount of iron hence is very beneficial when taken everyday.

Among the Chinese, fenugreek is also used to treat impotence. Fenugreek is sometimes used to treat allergies, including hay fever. It is also an ingredient in teas that are used as galactagogues, which enhances breast milk production. This is safer than using other medicine to increase the milk supply.
Fenugreek, when taken in large doses is a uterine stimulant and it induces labor. Hence, it is not recommended for pregnant women. As a culinary ingredient it is said to be quite safe. Fenugreek tea is also used to control blood glucose and lipid levels in pregnant women. It is also said to induce the production of insulin. Fenugreek can reduce the level of bad cholesterol in the body. Beri Beri can also be effectively treated by fenugreek. Kidney problems can be effectively cured by treatment using fenugreek.
Having it as a daily beverage would be best for anybody. Pregnant women should avoid this unless it is recommended by a doctor. It can cause uterine contraction, which may lead to a miscarriage. Apart from pregnant women, it can be taken by anybody. Since it reduces blood sugar levels, it should be taken in moderation by diabetics as a large dose may lead to hypoglycemia, blood sugar going severely low leading to unconsciousness.
