Licorice Tea

Licorice tea is one of the most preferred white teas. White teas are very mild and the popularity is only just catching on in the west. When this is done you can pour it into cups and serve. A good licorice tea will give two infusions. The amount of licorice added can be adjusted to suit your taste. Licorice tea can also be served cold as iced tea.

Licorice tea is also a very healthy drink and can effectively prevent serious diseases like cancer, including colon, prostate and stomach cancer and heart disease. The technique differs for plucking and processing the leaves for white tea and black tea. The best unopened and undamaged buds are used to make the best quality white tea. The benefits of this tea were well known to people in Asia and the Meditteranean region. This herb contains a chemical called glycyrrhizin or glycyrrhizic acid which is 50 times as sweet as sugar cane. This has been used for ages to cure stomach ulcers. It is also said to help sooth liver inflammation due to viral fevers. It also helps the digestive system by curing diarrhea and fights boils.

People with headaches can take this tea to get their headaches under control. If you have problems of excessive thirst, that problem can be overcome using licorice tea. This tea is supposed to fight virus in the body by stimulating the production of interferons. It also reduces cholesterol levels and blood pressure. It helps in the proper functioning of arteries. It has anti aging properties and it prevents the skin from getting damaged from the sun. It also has anti- fungal effect against Saccharomyces and Penicillin.

This is a very healthy drink. White teas are mild and have the lowest caffeine content. The licorice tea is a sweet white tea with a strong flavor of licorice. The fluoride content in the licorice tea also prevents tooth decay and formation of plaque. It has also been used to treat colic in babies. Since white tea is plucked only once a year, it is not sold abundantly. Regular consumption of this tea will give the best results with respect to health benefits.
